This trip took place January 2, 2012, just three days after I
first met Dani.
Anshan, China on February 9, 2013. This is the first year the government did not provide fireworks.

Our third year in Chilliwack: bird photos, Siyao goes to Machu Picchu, and Mimi visits from China.
We have family stay with us for several months, and we visit Hope, Whistler, and Alberta. We interred the ashes of
Dani’s mother and father.
Our house remained empty of guests, though people often told us they were thinking of coming to Canada.
Ultimately, no one wanted to risk our health nor theirs. Still, in spite of COVID-19 we can report a few things.
Another year of isolation and masking. Though we were close to the fires and flooding, somehow this has been an
uneventful year for us.
